This poem is about my little brother becoming a dad.
Little lost boy
grown to be a man
cradle your fate
in the palm of your hands

a child on the way
be careful what you say

or do

this child will learn from you
and you alone
do you want her to have your memories of home?

shouldn't be a scary place
raise her right
so she can look you in the face

with pride
look back knowing you at least tried

in the face of all your sadness
in spite of all the madness

you don't have to be like them
