The path to heaven; idea that evolved from a conversation with a good friend. |
There’s a place beyond the sparkling stars Forbidden to our eyes Beyond the scarlet sunset, Beyond the endless skies. A place we can’t imagine, Not even in our dreams. Where everything is perfect And always what it seems. And those who wish to find it Must walk the journey well And offer hands to strangers Who on their journey fell. For we follow the road blindly Not knowing how it ends, Rising when we’ve fallen, Ignoring twists and bends. The ones that have arrived there Now know they can’t return And yet they do not wish to So take heed of this and learn: That the trip becomes worthwhile The trip we call our life And for one glorious last reward: We call this paradise. Where His glory reigns forever, And eternal peace is won And all our worldly pleasures Fade away in endless sun. It lies beyond the moonlight, Beyond the morning’s perfumed air. We both know and call it heaven. And one day, I’ll meet you there. 7-20-05 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This conversation evolved when I was once talking to a friend named Daniel - he was kinda of depressed, and just down. But he said he didn't have much of a reason to be, because he knows he has something better waiting for him on the other side. By this, he meant heaven. Then he proceeded to say he would one day meet me there. Immediately I knew it had to become a poem. So it did. |
