Distant Spark (Terza Rima)

Standing in the dark,
I trembled in the cold,
Until I saw a distant spark.

Shining bright and bold,
It met me where I stood,
Then did its mystery unfold.

Right there I understood
The wonder of God’s grace,
That He is truly good.

I felt Him in that place,
The comfort of His peace,
As I met with His embrace.

Then did my shivers cease
As His light poured over me,
And my fears released.

Now I could clearly see
The fullness of His mercy,
How He had set me free.
