Life before you

I had a life before you came along
Since I’ve met you I’ve been singing a new song.
What will I do if I wake up one day without you here
I believe that is my greatest fear.
I need to find another song to play
In case you aren’t here one day.
Where do I start the words to forgetting you
And all of the things we used to do.
Why can’t I just trust time and let my heart go
Is it because I am afraid of letting my feelings show.
I used to ponder thoughts for the meaning of love
And I would ask for help from the man above.
I believe now that love is the other side of me
And learning to be free.
Honestly, I never thought that it could be this scarey to find
What I’ve been searching for all of this time.
I guess I have to live day by day
And trust that everything will be okay.
