When a young girl falls for the bad boy her heart, spirit and reputation is broken.
Starting school her junior year was an adventure all its own. Lily woke up in the morning to the screeching of what could only be described as annoying birds. She walked to the bust stop in The small German town of Edelfeld. The bus, what americans would recognize as a "city bus", picked her up along with all the american kids in her town.
Thrity minutes and kilometers of fields and hills later the bus reached the entrance to the Vilsekc military base where most of the parents of these children were stationed.
After the IDs were checked my the MPs the bus made it's way to the high school. It was like that everyday. It was a military operation so of course it was sometimes unecessary but always like clock work.
Af first Likly had no interest in making friends. Constantly moving like a nomad of the 21st Century discouraged her from making any connection at all. She was almost incapable of making and keeping friends.
She sat in the classrooms, always in the back, silent. She was the one everyone watched to make sure she didn't gun down or blow up the school.
Lily did manage to make some connections though. It was kind of hard considering the lack of English speaking people in the area. She needed some sort of human contact.
Veronica was her outgoing friend. She didn't care what people thought about her. She was free and open to any suggestion. That often got her into trouble, but it was why Lily admired her.
Amber was also free buti n a different way. She was free to be a bad girl with bad boys but she was always looking for love. She believed in love and that was her atraction.
Cory was the absolute. He made Lily laugh even when it wasn't funny. His past and her past had some of the sae ridiculous and uneccessary qualities. Lily enived him for being so happy.
Eating lunch in the courtyard was a daily routine but it was interuppted by a suprise visit.
Veronica told Lily that he crawled out of the pits of hell. And if she touched him it woul literally scald her skin. His name was Steven. She could not tear her eyes away from him and he could not stop staring at her.
He really was like a demon, with darker eyes than his soul et she did not fear him. This intrigued him greatly.
The first time she kissed him it was her first kiss. Seventeen years old and she cut herself off enough that she was just now getting her first kiss.
The seemed perfect for her. The girl everyone thought would blow up the school and the boy who actually did. But it was a lie. He only touched her so a friend of his could touch Amber. When Lily realized this she could not hold back the pain or the tears.
Her heart seemed to disentegrate in his hands and he didn't care at all. Voices in her head kept telling her she should have known better, she should have stayed behind the wall she biult years ago.
Lily, in the darkness of her room, took one pill to get rid f the headache. She took five more to get rid of the voices. She took them all to stop her absent hear from beating.
At the last second she did not succeed. Cory walked in as her mind slipped away. He carried her to the kitchen where her mom was and they called the German hospital.
Later, as Veronica, Amber, Cory, and her mom sat around her hospital bed she could not remember why she did it. He was a boy, a demon. No one is worth that not matter what they give you in experience and emotion.
