A girl longs for the days when her father was loving and close to her.
Once upon a time,
Begins this little girls story.
No existence of crime,
For this little girl there was only glory.

A smile appeared glued to her face.
How happy she would be,
When after school, to home she would race,
It was Daddy she would see.

Into Daddy's arms she would go.
A kiss planted on his face, followed by a beaming smile.
If only she had known,
It wouldn't be like this all the while.

As her life passed on,
Daddy drifted further away.
Her beaming smile now gone,
With this new little boy Daddy would play.

No longer would she be Daddy's little girl,
Daddy had a new little one.
Confused and sad her head would swirl,
Daddy's fun with her was done.

Time began to pass,
And the little girl grew more and more.
Watching slowly, as if through glass,
Her life shut firmly behind a door.

Everyday Daddy filled with more and more hate,
On her birthdays and holidays,
No more Daddy daughter dates.
This little girls life was now lost in a maze.

Daddy became full of rage,
He did things to his little girl no one should do.
This girl hurt so bad, but locked her sadness in a cage.
Dear daddy, whatever happened to you?

She did things she shouldn't,
Hurt herself in many ways.
How she wanted to stop, but just couldn't.
She missed the Daddy days.

Trying not to give up hope,
To God she would pray everyday.
She would pray for an angel to help her cope.
An angel to help her find her way.

To this day nothing has lessened,
But her smile is back and her happiness returned,
All because of this angel from heaven.
But still it is Daddy's love she wishes she earned.
