Here I answer my sister's poem on "What You See When You Look At Me." |
What I See in You by Ryoko Hirosue You ask me when I look at you What it is that I see. A shadow under the Moon, A scented candle in my room, Not a ghost, but an angel, A spirit joyful and free, A heart of ecstasy and glee. Your wings, though untattered or torn, Are just ornaments of sorts. From paradise you've fallen, An illusion far and forlorn, Here is the home you've chosen Now there's no need to mourn. With deep respect I adore you: Your eyes a glistening emerald green, That Northern Star above us, A Star of Honor, a star so bright, This eternal universe you oversee With your Beauty and Might. I often see you in the forest Doing your Solitary Dance, In a fresh sweet scent of coolness, To the Moon Goddess' shine, Your chosen partner and soul, So dependable the Dual Divine. I bow to Your Highness, my Lady; You return with a graceful curtsy. Your face blushes like rose petals; Smile and up you skip and bounce. With a spell of Strength and Compassion, You spin my body and soul around. Your laughter, spins, and movements Echo the sounds and rhythms of nature. With whirling tunes and plunging dynamics The Spirit, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth Draw us into a wondrous Universal Union. As if I am once more thrown into Life, Behold! in the shadow of my shallow existence, I finally see in you . . . My Principal Guiding Light! |
