Salty tears run down your face
Tragic how they fall so slow
Upon the earth that swallows them
Before anyone could ever know

Thoughts that cut you like a knife
Memories that burn like fire
My face that dances in your dreams
A loss that drags you into the mire

I once was there to catch your tears
But never did you save one of mine
Instead you let me drown in them
And fate has led you to your time

Tragic how your tears fall down
Making puddles at your feet
Wade through it as I once did
