standing here

standing here by myself
watching everone else's reality
unfold
I see clearly, truth.
I see them looking through me,
I feel their thoughts, floating
around me
I am inconsequential. like paper on a wall.
decoration.
applied long ago with care
and dedication.
admired for a moment, but soon forgotten.
taken for granted.
always there.
I stand there by myself.
watching life take place around me.
watching everyone, walking by,
not noticing. not caring.
not pretty anymore. the novelty is gone.
not worthy.
I stand there by myself.
and I ache.
