I am a stop sign. With steely determination, I defend my post each day. My body is firm, unyielding, as it strains to stand at attention. Ever a soldier, a sentinel guarding my station, I defy those seeking to disobey me. I do not bow to the torrential winds, nor balk as rivulets of rainwater snake over my naked skin; they attempt to age and destroy me. Rust endeavors to cover me in leprosy, yet still I stand tall. Even the cruel youths, who strive to deform me, do not weaken my resolve. After all, my mission is their lives.
