Two poems inspired by music and the people who create it
Giving Up On the Only Thing That's Real

Blond waves; his careless hair
blue orbs; a haunting stare
crying for me to come along
waiting for me to get lost in his song
*
Tears drip; falling down flushed cheeks
hands shake; the dream he's lost I keep
wishing his beauty did not captivate
begging this anonymous love turn into hate
*
Abundant cries; heard amongst the crowd
silent screams become ironically loud
turning my back, away from his grasp
this moment of his becoming my last.

Dandy Boys In Their Ruffle Shirts and Crushed Velvet

This dramatic overture comes crashing to a close.
I wonder where he'll go from here,
if he can stand to keep on; keep up with his mask.
*
Its his fear which guides him through this chaotic existance.
He hides behind his lavish costumes,
and his black eyeliner becomes his escape.
*
But like everything else in this life,
nothing stays beautiful forever.
Clothes will stain and fray... makeup will run.
*
Turning back, I watch as he heads home.
Back to where his glitz and glamour aren't needed.
He'll finally make sense in the silence of his own room.
*
All alone now, he'll wait for that moment to come his way again.
Where kissing boys is trendy, and everything tabu is style.
The band will play on... even if he doesn't.

The Mad Hatter's Orchestra

One breath away
he makes my mind reel in confusion
and catastrophe takes hold.
He longs for solace
He yearns for peace...
Quiet. ...shh...
*
One breath away
I'll grasp onto the beat,
his chaos ensues in my heart and mind.
He gives in to the noise
He pounds a rhythm through his man made void.
Louder. SCREAM!
*
One breath away
our bodies writhe and twist
and we collectively move with his madness.
He conducts us in a symphony of sweat
He makes us: his troupe of marionettes, bleed for him.
Pain. ...bring on the tears...
