The plea of a man for his love to join him in experiencing life. |
Come Together I’d like to walk through autumn leaves in the chill of approaching winter, swathed in warm clothes and wrapped in your arms. Every time the snowflakes fall together I’m reminded I am alone. When will you run to me as the snow does for the ground? I enjoy breezes because, like me, they are looking for someone to touch. At one time I had lots of money and tried to buy love with presents. I soon found out a bought body was not a lasting purchase. I have faced the changing of many seasons alone. I’ve walked in the sand and watched the waves searching the shores for a friend. They’ve searched for years and found only the beach. I wonder if the waves realize the value of a friend who’s been there just waiting for the next touch. Even broken hearts like company. I want to share you and make you less of a stranger to me and yourself. Come, let the child in you run with the child in me. When the day has ended and you need comfort and understanding, turn around and I’ll be there. Let the woman in you join the man in me and we’ll change the world to suit us… together © ’74, 2006 Karl Arthur King |
