Like the title this is about whom to trust.
“Damn, Ryanne!” Jesse shrieked in amazement. “You are looking totally fabulous this year. What did you do over the summer? Got a makeover?”
“Ummmm….no not that I know of… I just threw this together... But, thanks.” I said shocked at Jesse’s reaction to my appearance but smiling all the same.
I thought I looked amazing. I mean, I was beautiful! I was thin, compared to what I was last year, I only weighed 135. I had long, curly blonde hair, with bright red streaks flowing in my hair. I was only 5’5 and had the most gorgeous baby blue eyes. Don’t get me wrong, I am not as conceited as I sound.
“OMG!!! I can’t believe you! You look amazing! I hate you!” Erin exclaimed to me as she sat down at the normal table we always sat at lunch. “You are now going to stop hanging out with us now that you look like Ms. Popular! Omg! Omg! Omg! What happened to you. I feel like I want to die!”
“Come on guys, you know that I would never ever be friends with that mean son of a B****.” I pointed to Shelly, the meanest, sluttish, and whorish in this school, who was sitting over with the preps and the jocks showing off her new look.
“She is totally mean! I have hated her since eighth grade!” Jesse stated in a tone I am most used to hearing when we talked about Shelly.

Jesse is about my height but weighs only 120. She is a Goth who doesn’t take no for an answer. Everything she owns is black. I mean, come on, she has to have something, not black, right? No wrong. Even her pencil is black. If she could she would be black. Now Erin is not one of those people that would be hanging with the preps, but, she sure as hell acts like she should. She is 5’7, she has short red curly hair, she is tremendously skinny, and she wears contacts.
“OMG!!!!” Erin exclaimed in total amazement. “I can’t believe who is walking to the popular guy’s table!!!”
We all looked and to my surprise, we saw a guy about my age (17), blonde, shaggy hair, muscles beyond belief, blue eyes that could melt any girl’s heart, and a killer smile.
“Who is that?!?!?” I asked in total shock.
“That, my friend, is C.J. Johnson. He is the new kid this year. He is a senior like us and transferred here from koopermilla, namesheart. He is the most absolute hottie here in this whole school. Every girl wants him…” Erin, who knows everything in this school, just grinned with how pleased she was.
Wow this guy is amazing because he can get anyone in the school. Maybe he will want me? I wonder if he will come and talk to me.

“Hey, C.J! Come sit with us?” Ashton said. “We have plenty of room.
“Yah man, come sit with us, since you know you are on the team.” Jacob said.
“Uh ya sure I will be there in a minute. I just have to do something really quick.” C.J. said as he looked my way.
“Alright dude.” Ashton said as he followed his gaze towards me. “Later.” Then he added as a whisper so that I couldn’t hear but I read his lips, “Be careful of that one.”
“wha—aat?” C.J. asked in an unsteady manner.
“Nothing man, nothing...” Ashton said.

“OH MY GOD!!!” Erin said. “He’s coming this way!”
“Whatever. He may be good-looking, but he is probably an ass like every other guy in this school. So even if he came over here I wouldn’t be wowed.” I said kind of amazed that I could lie to my best friends without them knowing.
Ummm hey, I am new here. My name is C.J. I wanted to introduce myself seeing as I have no friends yet. And I heard your comment (looking at me) about me being an ass and I have to say you’re wrong. You don’t even know me.”
“Hi, I am Erin.”
“Hey, the name is Jesse.”
“Well excuse me for judging, but every guy who goes here is an ass. I think you are one anyway. Why in the hell are you over here in the first place? Obviously, you don’t know who we are. I am Ryanne. I am not who people like you would talk to. These are my best and my only friends. The guys you were just with? Those are the guys you need to hang out with. And last of all. Don’t come near me because I judge who I want, when I want. So bye….” I said rudely..
“Wow! Those guys were right. I will have a challenge with you. Would you like to get to know me? I really truly am a nice guy. I would really like to get to know you. Let’s say tomorrow at lunch? Public place of course. So what do you say? Will you go out to lunch with me?”
“Did you not just hear what I said?” I said astonished.
“Go with him.” Erin hissed at me.
“He seems nice.” Jesse whispered.
“Fine. One date and one date only.” I said finally.
“Good. You won’t regret this!” C.J. said excitedly as he ran off.
“Well I am going to class. Bye girls!” I yelled at Erin and Jesse.
“Bye!” they said in unison.

Later That night……
*RING RING*
“Hello?” I answered the phone.
“Hey this is Erin”
“And Jesse”
“Oh hey guys what’s up?” I replied.
“Um, We have a question for you.” Jesse said sounding a little concerned.
“Okay shoot.” I said.
“Do you like C.J.? I mean I know we said you should give him a chance, but I don’t know if you should any more. I mean he seems okay but he has this look about him that makes us concerned.” Erin said.
“Okay, first off I appreciate your concern. Second, I do not Like him. And Third, I highly doubt that he is as insane as you guys think. I just think he is an ass. Well I gotta go. Night guys...” I stated.
“Night.” They said in unison.

The next day at lunch I met C.J. by my locker.
“Hey” he said casually. “Are you ready?”
“Well, move so I can put my stuff in my locker, but yeah, I guess so.” I said sounding like I was in a b****y mood.
He led me to his car and opened the door for me and closed it. He drove me around for what seemed like hours. He talked to me about everything from where he lived to what his favorite foods. He asked me questions about me, to which I only responded in short answers. He and I finally arrived at the restaurant.
“Hope you enjoy this place. My uncle James owned this place before he passed away. Its mine now.” C.J. said.
“Wow! You own this? That’s so cool.”
“Yah. Well, are you hungry?”
“Of course I am.”
“Let’s go inside then.”
“Okay.”
I followed him inside the restaurant, Bok ol malerole. When we got inside, waiters treated us like we were famous.
“So, what would you care to drink Madame?” the waiter asked.
“Um… may I have…?”
“She will have water.” C. J. said as he cut me off. “and for an appetizer, she will have a salad. For dinner, she would like the chicken soup with vegetables on the side.”
“And what for you sir?” The waiter said.
“I would like a coke for my beverage. I would like steak and I would like fries.” C.J. said.
“Um excuse me. I will have the exact same as the gentleman. Thank you.” I said very politely.
C.J. looked at me with total shock. “You will?”
“Uh that’s what I said is it not?” I replied.
“I usually order for the girls.”
“I order for myself. I don’t like anything you have ordered for me except for the drink. Now listen, I only agreed to come here because you want to prove to me that you are not an ass. So far, you have been a gentleman, but that doesn’t mean you are just faking it.” I said.
“Okay. What do you want me to do to prove to you that I am telling the truth?”
“Nothing. I want to think of you the way I already do.”
“But….but…. I really am a great person. Will you please just give me a chance?”
“Hell, no!”
“You and I were meant for each other! Since I laid my eyes on you, I can’t get you out of my head. I see you walk and I say damn. I see you with your friends and I want you to be near me. I watch you. I know we are meant for each other. What do I have to do to get you to understand that?” C.J. said sounding heartfelt.
“Like I said before, I don’t like you like that. You are too creepy for me to be with. I have to go. Bye.” I said aggravated.
“No! Don’t go! I love you! I need you in my life! Why won’t you love me back?”
I then scurried towards the door. I had to get out of there somehow!
“Please, Ryanne. Will you reconsider?”
“No! I will not.”
“Then if I can’t have you then no one else will!” C.J. cried out in furry.

C.J. had a knife with him which he aimed towards me. I bolted out of the parking lot towards the street. He ran after me as I was running towards the street. Just then Jesse came by in her car so I waved her down and jumped inside. I told her to drive and told her what happened with C.J. I was hoping that someone would be home tonight. We pulled into the driveway and to my surprise, no one was home because they are always home.
“ Do you want me to stay here with you? Cause you know I will.” Jesse said.
“No, I will be fine. I am home now. But thanks. Call me tomorrow.”
“ Okay bye Ryanne.”
“Bye.”
I got out and opened the door to my house. I let out an utter of relief when I got inside my house and I locked the door. No one was here. I was tired. So tired that I went to my room and plopped onto the bed and lay down. Just then I heard the phone ring. Startled I ran to the phone to answer it.
“Hello?” I said completely worn out from the day.
“Don’t think I don’t know where you live….”
Click. The phone hung up. I was so scared I called my parents.
“Mom?”
“Yes?”
“When are you coming home?”
“Well I am stuck in traffic. It is pretty bad, so probably in an hour or two.”
Oh great I could die in that amount of time.
“Is there something wrong sweetie?”
“No mom I will be fine I was just wondering. Well bye I love you.”
“I love you too honey.”

Click. I hung up. Now what was I going to do? I have never been in this situation before. I walked over to the TV. and turned it on. I flipped through channel after channel until I found a movie about love and dying. All of a sudden the phone rings.
“Hello?”
“Don’t think I can’t see you.” The voice said quietly.
Click. OMG I ran to the windows. I couldn’t see anyone’s car or anything for that matter. I called my dad.
“Hello? County sheriff. This is Rodney speaking. How may I assist you?” My dad said.
“Hello, dad?” I sounded scared and frantic.
“Yes? Is there a problem honey? You know you’re not supposed to call unless there is an emergency.”
“Dad, Listen. I have been getting phone calls from someone. I am pretty sure I know who it is but he has been scaring me saying he can see me and he knows where I live. Daddy can you come home please? I am scared?”
“Honey, it’s probably nothing. Your mom will be home soon. She called and said she would be there in about an hour. So can you hold on till then?”
“Yes, I guess so.”
I hung up the phone and went to the windows again. This time I could see someone standing by a lamp post. He was tall and had a very good physique. He looked a lot like C.J. and he was staring at me! Just then the power went out. I started to scream. I couldn’t see a thing. I ran to the phone. No dial tone. Oh my god, I was going to die. I heard a soft rustle in the next room. I thought it was my cat. Then the noise sounded like a scraping sound. All of a sudden I heard my cat hiss and shriek in terror. Footsteps? I was sitting in a corner. There was no one home. I glanced out the window. C.J wasn’t there anymore. How could this be happening? I never did anything wrong…..

Just then I heard….
“Ryanne?” The voice said.
Oh my god. I know that voice. It’s the voice of….
“Come on out Ryanne. All I want is for you to talk to me. I am not going to hurt you if you cooperate with me.” The voice said again.
“eek….”
Oops I make a mistake. He was just inches away from where I was hiding. He turned and looked in my direction. It was like he could see right through me. His eyes were glowing. He could see….
“Ryanne, here you are. I thought I saw you here. Come over here.”
He didn’t wait for me to get up. He picked me up and threw me onto the couch. The lights had turned back on.
“Oh Ryanne, What have you done? You had a chance at loving me. Now you must make a decision. Will you be mine or will you suffer the consequences?”
I looked over at the lamp. It was in my reach….If only I could get to it without him seeing it.
“Oh C.J! I am so terribly sorry. I don’t know what came over me. I just got scarred that you wanted a relationship so fast.”
Okay good Ryanne keep him talking. Edge slightly to the lamp. “I really want to have a relationship with you. I just thought we needed some time to you know, get to know each other.”
“What do you mean ‘get to know each other?’ we already talked about everything….oh wait you mean physically?” C.J asked.
“Oh yes, I can never be with a guy unless I know for sure that they can be physical with me.” I said still inching my way.
Okay now just a little bit more.

As I was about to grab the lamp, C.J. leaped up and grabbed me and started kissing me. Oh it was a great kiss, but I had a job to do. I started backing up while kissing him. I reached out and…yes! I got it. I picked the lamp and held it for a minute trying to decide if I should hit him with it because he only means well. I decided to slammed the lamp onto his head. He stepped back and looked at me stunned.
“ Your not right for me.” I said shaking wildly.
Did I kill him? Oh no I hope not! I don’t want to go to jail. He isn’t moving maybe I should go over to him.
I leaned over and looked at him. I was terrified that he wasn’t moving and about to go call the police, when he grabbed my ankle and held me down.
“You know we could have been perfect together. Just you and I. Well now I have to kill you like I did to the others that didn’t love me.”
He stood up and placed the knife to my neck. One wrong move and I would have died instantly.
Okay, what was the defensive move I learned in pys. Ed.? Oh come on what is it…I know it…Come on think! Think! I got it!

I quickly got out of his grip by back kicking his knee cap and then punching him in the stomach. I then grabbed the knife and plunged it into his chest. I was breathing heavily. I called my dad who came quickly home and had cops, fire trucks and ambulances come along with him. I was sent to the hospital to see if I had been wounded which of course I only had a slight cut. My mom came home and found out everything from my father. She then came over to me.
“Your dad is sorry that he didn’t believe you. I am so sorry that this has happened. You should have told me I would have got out of my car and ran here.If you need anything, you can talk to me okay?” my mother said.
“Okay, mom. I will,” I said. “Oh and mom? I love you and dad so much.”
She came over to me and hugged me.
“Good night, sweetheart. I love you too.”

At school the next day…..
“Omg! Ryanne. Did you see the newest hot guy today? He just transferred from Burkfeld, Lockferd. You should go check him out.” Erin said.
I said my good byes and went off to class and out of nowhere, I saw the new guy. But, he looked…. He had shaggy hair, muscles beyond belief, blue eyes that could melt any girl’s heart, and a killer smile. He looked like... C.J. Oh no…. Not again! He looked at me with a knowing smile…..
