daily prayer challenge |
If It’s Good Enough for Jesus … “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35 What we see with Jesus is that he went by himself to pray. He spent alone time with the Lord. So if it’s good enough for Jesus to do, it’s definitely good enough for me. How many of us have that consistent alone time with the Lord? How many of us really enjoy that alone time? Have you ever really looked at your schedule to see how you fill your day? Are your days, your weeks all planned out? And how many of us even have our alone time with the Lord planned? How many times do we get before the Lord and say, “Here I am, Lord, what would you like me to do with this time?” I often wonder if we make it difficult for God to step into our life because we have everything planned. On my bathroom mirror I have the question, “Lord, what do you want me to be and do today?” The question reminds me that today is His day and I want His plan. “After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.” Matthew 14:14 |
