Sometimes love is so deep we need not touch |
February 4, 2004 What are words? Our written thoughts, Expressions of who we are at the deepest level of our existence. With whom do we share our words? Ourselves as others will come to know us, The being inside our physical selves, The one who reaches to touch another soul, As it reaches in kind to us. Beyond the physical barriers of distance and time, Such intimacy lost Upon those who would focus only upon touch, Only upon the physical sensations of now. I listen closely to your words, And I see you, I feel you, though we have not met, The you hidden so deeply inside, You surround me with your presence, Your words of love, That fill my heart with happiness, You have given me the best part of you, The only part of you that is timeless, Your words are forever, They will live in me as part of me, Until the day I die, On that day your words will be free once more, Traveling endlessly through time, Your soft light that baths all it touches, With you and the endless love you are, Your words have given me this, They have given me you, My words are not enough to express, The gratitude I feel for your words, The gratitude I have for your touch, Your gift of forever, Offered so eloquently from your loving heart, As I listen and become a part of you, Our words together, Forever. |
