a group of friends turns on one friend.
And Then There Was You

Scene one act one

(In a intimate night club, very small. Tess sat there chatting to her mates. Not really taking notice of her surroundings. She had just been out of hospital for a few days. The scars still hurt, but she had t move on and get on with her life. she was staying with friends until she felt strong enough to be by herself..)

Sara          Knock them back darling! You deserve this.
Tess.          Thanks. I shouldn't really you know. Those pills still need taking. I’ve missed two pills.
Sara          What are they for anyway? She had chewing gum and looked as tarty as they come.) I’d stop taking them if I were you. You seem fine to me.
Tess.          Don't be daft Sara, you’re not me are you? You’re pissed. Talk sense. I’m not having anymore . Here, you finish it! (she pushed the glass towards Sara nearly knocking the glass off the table.)
Sara.          Hey! Watch it! It nearly went all over me, What are you doing? God. Yes perhaps you have had too much to drink.
Tess.          You what? Tess laughed. I’ve only had a half of a vodka. What’s up with you?
Andrea.          Hey you guys! What’s going on?
Sara          Tess is getting snotty with me!
Tess          I’m getting snotty with you? she knew she was and she was enjoying it. Give me a fucking break! Tess laughed again. I haven't done anything but sit here enjoying your company. Tess being sarcastic. Come on Sara! Don't ruin the night.
Andrea          Yeah Sara! What’s up? We’re celebrating Tess getting rid of that bastard once and for all. Give her a rest.
Sara          A rest from what? I’m just out enjoying myself. Don't start ganging up on me ladies or you’re get it straight back with shit on it!
Andrea          Oh come on Tess, let’s go and join the others. Andrea started to get up. Tess followed.
Sara          Hey! I’m part of this group too you know. You can't kick me out that easily. Others like me even if you two don't. sara pouted like a spoiled child in a playground.
Andrea          No one is fucking kicking you out you idiot. You’re kicking yourself out. Act your age and come and join the human race! She turns to go.
Sara          Piss off you bitch!
Andrea          She turns quickly to Sara. Smashing a glass to the floor. What did you just call me lady?
Sara          I said PISS OFF, YOU BIITCH! There, I said it again. Now what are you going to do, huh?
Andrea          Come outside!
Sara          No! I don't think so. I’m not into fighting like some women! She turned her gaze to Tess
Andrea          OK! I’ll drag y. BY YOUR HAIR?
Sara          Oh yeah? Just try it! Embarrass yourself, Go on.
Tess          Leave her Andrea, she ain’t worth it. I never knew what a bitch she really was.  Look, the bar manager is coming over. Leave it. Let’s go!
Andrea          No! I’m not the guilty one here. She needs to know she can't talk to people like this. She had a smirk upon her face because she knew she herself was the bitch.
Tess stood back while the bar manager came over. This wasn't the kind of night she expected after coming out of hospital. She wasn't feeling too well and she sat back down on the same chair looking glum.
Jim BM          OK ladies, Is there a problem here?
Andrea          Sara here is having a funny turn and I asked her to come outside,
Sara          Look! I was sitting here quietly chatting to her pointing at Tess and she started calling me names and she pushed her glass over to me because she had had enough and the glass nearly fell on to me. So I told her straight. She didn't like it and here we are.
Jim          Well, that sounds about right to me ladies, wouldn't you say. And to be honest with you I have been watching your little corner and hearing  your bullying.
Andrea          Excuse me? She sang out like she was a hard nut, but the bar manager wasn't intimidated.
Jim          Afraid so! I don't tolerate bullying in any shape or form. I think it’s disgraceful. So I think you should leave your mates to it he addressed Sara and you ladies go somewhere else and drink.
Andrea          Fine! We’ll do just that! We know when we’re not fucking wanted. Stupid cow! She murmured under her breath hoping to get Sara angry, but she failed and looked stupid herself.
Sara          Thanks mate. She whisper. I’ll get out your way now. But as she said that the whole group of her s-called mates get up and leave.
