Moonlight

Moonlight trickled down from far above
Offering for a time its teasing hand
Allowing me to settle with the thought
I could somehow leave the torment of this land

My midnights seem much darker now than then
A pale glimpse teasing me with blowing winds
Reminding me of hope we could become
Closer somehow than the closest of dear friends

Will sunshine when it comes bring to me pain
With scorching rays which burn my heart to ash
Destroying all my dreams in which I dream
Telling me the thoughts of you are now a past

I dare not open up my eyes to light
In hopes the darkness will remain with me
For only with the dreams I have of you
Will my sorrowed heart remain for now at peace

Moonlight trickle down once more I pray
Bring once more a teasing hands caress
Without your pale embrace around my soul
I fear my heart will meet it’s final death

Yellow hues delight my dreaming mind
Entice me with a wish of love to come
And from your fading rays from far above
Remind me to my heart you’ll someday run
