This is The First Part of a Trilogy I'm writing. This Is The First Epic.
The clouds rolled in on the darkest day,
The thunder shook the house and I began to pray,
My mortal soul caught in a torrent of rain,
This unending beating storm to drive me insane.

From a room of foundation I look through a window,
An ominous cloud festered a sky burning glow,
Not lightning nor the Moon or the Sun,
But a red ray shooting to earth like a bullet of a gun.

A horrendous noise pierced the corn crop out in my ground,
The red ray split the field with the most demonic sound,
I prayed to God to keep me from all wrath to be wrought,
I remembered to keep my head down just like I was taught.

The thunder yells to the sky to split,
Another crash finds itself where I happen to sit,
My world is white and my lips are numb,
Another world my mind is to succumb.

Death is a room with a ceiling fan,
On the ground lay half of a man,
I looked up at the ceiling and wondered of the rain,
My mouth is dry and I'm in horrible pain.

I can move a finger and yes I can walk,
I stand up slowly look behind me and see a corn stalk,
An entire house lifted up to the sky,
I could have been taken but the storm didn't try.

Except for the room I sheltered within,
My home was no more and the air was thin,
On the darkest day quickly the thunder came,
My life up in the air and the thunder left just the same.
