A poem of young sorrow
Two hopeful spirits gathered above
The rusting rooftop, with all the love
Playful are they, a sister, a brother
In an old tire they sit together

Anxious faces they could not hide
With the huge full moon, high is the tide
Their necks are stiff as hours went by
The night seems another failure, another goodbye

The sky is clear, no clouds in sight
They joined their hands, and held each tight
They prayed a hundred with all their might
All was done but nothing went right

Where is the falling star you promised me, quote she
Just wait another minute and its coming dear, answered he
A bundle of those passed but nothing was seen
All the night, no star wanted to intervene

Another session sorrowfully ended
Before they slept, four knees were bended
They closed their eyes and gave Him a token
Wanting no more promises to be broken

Tomorrow’s still a faithful day
Their hopeful spirits amazingly did stay
What kind of magic those stars possessed,
To leave those babies wishing and obsessed?
