BY SAMANTHA SCHARN
A man who is atheist is walking outside when he stumbles across a church he decides to go in. The man enters the church not knowing what he was getting himself into; he took a seat in the last row. Thinking that no one can see him, boy was he wrong! The pastor is at the pulpit speaking the word of god and the conjuration is inventively listening. With every word that the pastor said the man got angry. He defiantly disagreed with everything the pastor was saying. He eventually got so angry that he just got up and left. Later that day the man went home to his wife and son. The wife traditionally asked her husband how his day was. The man remembered how he stumbled into the church earlier and begun to tell his wife about the horrible experience. As he was telling the story his wife noticed how angry he was getting. She decided to just shrug it off; for her husband was known for becoming angry. Later that night the man was lying in his bed when his son came bursting in the room. He jumped on the bed and handed his dad a book, the bible. He wanted his dad to read it to him. The father looked at the cover and handed the book back to his son. He was furious he thought how could my own son believe in that crap! The man decided that it would be best for him to just go to sleep. He woke up constantly to strange noises and he ended up tossing and turning most of the night. He then decided that he should go for a walk. As soon as he was outside the air began to sooth him. But still there were so many unanswered questions running through his head. Then amazingly he ended up in front of the same church he attended earlier that day. He just stood there looking at the big white doors, and then suddenly his phone rang. His wife was on the other end. She sounded very worried. She was scared because their son was not waking up. He was not even breathing. The man was paralyzed he could not move, think, or even speak. His wife hung up the phone to call 911 and the man waited for her to call back. Then he cursed god for what had happened to the son 10 hours later the son was pronounced dead. The man and his wife slowly drifted apart. She went one way and he just disappeared. After his son’s death he just felt invisible. His wife left and there was no one left to care for him. On his way home from work he pasted by that old church. He said what the heck what do I have to loose. He went in and took a seat in the last row. He felt that he was so invisible that no one would be able to see him. Once again the same pastor came out and started to speak the work of God. The man angrily got up to leave. Then the pastor called out son please why do you leave in the middle of this service. The man was surprised that he even noticed him. He was speechless. The pastor then said wait a minute I’ve seen you before. You were that same man that left before a few months ago. Please, said the preacher tell us what is your concerns. The man then tells how he is an atheist and how his son died and how his life is over. The man begins to sob softly. The pastor then brings the man to the alter. He then prays with the man. The man suddenly drifts away from the church and wakes up in his bed lying next to him was his wife. He screamed. His wife awoke and she asked what was wrong? The man was confused. He blurted out our son is dead. She calmly reassures him that he’s not that he was just having a bad dream. The man runs into his son’s room the son awakes and asks daddy have you come to read to me now? The father said of course and grabs his son into his arms. He goes to church that Sunday and the pastor winks at him. Never has that man valued his life, and his family’s life the way he does now!
