A "Rondeau Redouble`" poem about wolves, an endangered species. |
On Death Row Wolves, endangered species of the night, Help stem the demise of the yellow eyes. Do not ignore this animal’s dire plight, Their valiant spirits, do not demonize. Falsely accused by those who would chastise, Not predators as others would indict. Help us still their most pitiable cries, Wolves, an endangered species of the night. Warriors, so brave and true, stand to unite, Wolves hunt for their food, not to tyrannize Only for their survival, will they fight, Help stem the demise of the yellow eyes. Broken bodies and spirits agonize, How can they earn their much needed respite. They pray to ancestors who were so wise, Do not ignore this animal’s dire plight. One of nature’s creatures, they have the right, To rise to man’s challenge, to equalize. Not meaning a bloody war to incite, Their valiant spirits, do not demonize. Sorrowful eyes looking up toward the skies, Listen to the mournful howls of their fright. Desperation, their souls internalize, Sitting on death row, their ending in sight, Wolves, an endangered species. Rondeau Redoublé Pentameter Writing is my guiding light. Mysticroz |
