My view of life from lessons learned in love, loss, hope, and finding ones path.

The Path

I don’t “see” anything in the future. All I know is now, today,
only this moment.
I have no expectations.
Expectations most always fall short of the credit
they were given to begin with.
I would never put anything I loved and treasured on a pedestal.
The thing I love could fall.
I won’t be rash in judgments, decisions, or words spoken.
I have some that I love, but haven’t told them lately.
Any of the people I love could die in the next minute.
I pray that they know I love them.
I don’t say I love you to hold you to me,
but rather to let you know I want you
to be happy and realize you are not alone.
I Love You!
I know nothing of love
other than it is a very close relation to hate.
It is an emotion
that has been the cause of wars, marriage  & divorces,
crimes of passion and broken hearts.
It has also been responsible for the happiness
of some lucky souls
who have allowed themselves to love and be loved.
Just because you love someone doesn’t mean they love you.
So then what?
You keep living.
Push your dreams to the back of your mind.
Find a place to hide the hope that had bloomed so sweetly.
One day it will feel the ray of a sun that shines not from the sky,
but from the heart of a soul that touches yours.
Yesterday I could not have said,
“ Tomorrow will be a good day”.
Who can say what today will be like tomorrow?
I live only one day.
That is this day.
I have learned from the past.
I have loved and been loved.
I have loved and been unloved in return.
I have lost, to death, some of those that were mine.
I have lost others by distance, misunderstandings, and pride.
I have no shame in saying I love you.
It is three simple words,
you or I might not be here when tomorrow becomes today.
Don’t lose sight of the true things in life.
The simple things.
Love and hope exists, nature is beautiful,
and you can’t make other peoples decisions.
Decisions made by ones self are what we are accountable for.
None are perfect.
We may have free will religiously,
but our hearts often go where angels fear to tread.
We opt to love,
taking the chance that the one you love will never hurt you.
When you find a friend, a companion,
who accepts who and what you may be,
and loves you anyway, you have a true friend.
A friend can be counted on to be there,
hold you, cry with you, sooth you when you’re afraid,
and generally cares about you and your life.
When I say love you; know that I mean it in all light;
Sad, happy, laughing, or crying.
I’ll be there for you come day or night.
As the years go by the closer we’ll become.
When I say I love you, don’t take it wrong,
I want nothing from you.
I have no design, expectations or motives
other than simply enjoying your company.
I will be there for you be it friend, family or lover.
There will come a time when we, you and I
will need one another as never before.
Sharing pain of sorrow, for lost loves,
words not spoken, a chance not taken.
Losing our friends and family through the years.
We’ll wait and wonder who’ll pass next.
Knowing what it all means,
one day you or I will be the one to
take that path.
