Just another poem
Familiar Path

Walking through earth grain fields of gold
Staring at the willow tree swaying in the wind
Hating why I'm here to see you in the cold
You were my world, my lover, my friend

I walk the path I've worn to the forest line
Seems things have grown without me here
I begin to clear away the brush and vine
Your stone inlayed name appears with a tear

You loved the view so here with me you lay
A year has passed and it gets easier with time
But the loneliness never fails to seize the day
I can still remember when you were mine

I place the Lily atop the earth, your favorite
The chill begins to hit my core but I'm distraught
Scared I’ll forget your face and the feel of it
While remembering everything in a single thought

Parted but never forgotten
