I've Left a Stain

On this world, I’ve left a stain

But it is no accident

Still spilling, soaking, spreading

Let it be permanent, please

For it took me years to turn my glass

Even longer for my contents to drip

More time still for them to land

As I watch them absorb, I am delighted

Peaceful and gleeful I mull

For when my glass slips, falls, breaks

Into shards scattering the floor

The glass will sweep up and discard

But what once lay inside

Will have left a stain
