Queen of Swords

They took me from the darkness
and set me up against the hordes
Six dire moves across the chessboard
and they crowned me queen of swords

I have been the guest of valkyries
in their eyries built of bone
I have walked the haunted hallways
where the Grail King makes his home

But of all that I remember
of all they say that cannot be
I know best a silver tower
among the stars, beside the sea

And when I return again in Twilight
to the Night from which I came
I will be forgotten by the Morning
and no one there will know my name.
