The sunlight shines through my window

The warm sun light shines through my window,
I turn around and see you, sleeping peacefully
I want to wake you up, so you can hold me in your arms.
But I don’t
I just watch you
As you sleep, as you breathe,
Watching the rise and fall of your chest
I could watch you forever
I lay in amazement that you are here next to me
I just watch you
As you turn over and slowly open your eyes
You smile at me
Good morning, you say.
You kiss me
I smile
You pull me close to you
You feel so warm
Your shirt smells like cologne and fabric softener
I put my head on your chest
Listen to your heartbeat
Mine beats the same
We beat together, exactly the same as if one instead of two.
You kiss me on my forehead
Baby, it’s time to wake up, you say.
I look at you
I’d rather stay here in bed, in your arms, I say.
In your warmth

The alarm goes off
