Poem about how fleeting time is
I awoke one morning,
And found myself in tomorrow,
A dark hole of confusion.
I look around,
And notice that I've been misplaced,
In an eternal world filled with tomorrows.
Cold, unrecognizable.
I search longingly for yesterday,
I fondly remember it's comfort, familiarity.
Yet, I recall yearning, craving for tomorrow.
Ignorant i was to think tomorrow would fill my voids.
The dejected present,
Rotting, lonesome in the lingering shadows.
If only yesterday could be gentle enough,
To allow the present to join in its festivities,
Keeping the forceful tomorrow at bay for when I could face it.
Yet, yesterday becomes a distant memory.
The present is frightened and flees.
The arrogant tomorrow is all that is left.
You become thrust harshly into it.
A world of distant faces,
New places.
A confident person struts into tomorrow.
A fool disregards of his gift, leaping ignorantly forward.
An intelligent person gestures kindly to the present,
Laughs, cries, screams.
Tomorrow then comes for him,
Waiting calmly, patiently for it's turn.
