My Writing Thoughts on Mass Extinction. |
Most people don't realise the implication of destroying our ecosystem foundation that we solely depend on it for life. This is due to how we have define life from the first day we started to join the dotted lines of a structured journey as a human being; but never was about being human. Our egocentric tendency is to think of ourself as god's unique creation that is here to reap the benefits of mother nature's natural resources to fulfill our own structured civilisation without the slightest consideration. All this while we are missing the point that we are only a part of god's greatest creation -- the whole wondrous universe known as life. It is even more pathetic to claim highly of ourself as the only known intelligent with so much consciousness; when we are unable to grip the actual reality of what is basically needed to sustain life is just a simple healthy and natural environment. I have never doubted the mask we are wearing today as a human being to be different from the rest will soon uncover ourself as the real monkey responsible for destroying everything in life's path; including ourself when the end of days on earth come. We will eventually reach that level of unsustainable consumption on the earth's natural resources; when the ever growing human population is predicted to reach 6.8 billions by the year 2010 with an increasing rate of 75 million people per year. Human is the only single most dominant species on earth today; throughout their footprint in the past they have and still is encroaching further into the earth's natural resources to fulfill their own material gains. Creating more human activities for jobs, food supply, better lifestyle, medical and health care; indirectly contributing to the already unpredictable and extreme weather condition patten experience by us today which is proven to be caused by man-made global warming. The truth is that such drastic demand by human abnormal consumption on the earth's natural resources can never persist forever; our dominating attitude to massively reduce others while increasing our own constructed worldly gains will only lead to self extinction in the end when the fabric of the earth is unable to support the overall ecosystem. From my past interest, believe and understanding on the cause and effect of man-made global warming to the self destruction of homosepien in the seventh extinction won't come as a surprise to me at this stage of time judging from the recent human development. I would honestly be glad to be claim wrong again by anyone; or classify as a "nut-case" to post such thoughts for the sake of the younger generation of tomorrow. Then again, I have already live through decades of lifetime to see the pros and cons of "so-call" development that have effected the environment; while it has increase the cost of health care, and last but not least; I am not the only one in this world to have such a original thoughts that human will also be the cause of the seventh extinction; just like they are to be blame for the unpredictable and extreme weather condition patten of global warming. |
