about the park and my family
When I was young dad use to take the family to the park on  family picnic. We use to get all us kids together and pack the car to go to the park on weekends. When we would get to the park we would all run to play on the slide or the merry go round we would all loaded up on the merry go round and daddy would push till we all got dizzy.

Then we would all go in search of  wood so dad could start the fire out of paper and wood. I always like to watch the flames jump some times it would scare me to see how high that the flames go.
Mom would set up the table with hot doges and hamburgers and all the good stuff that would go with it. Wail she did that we would all play freebee or baseball or something like that.

When the fire was ready daddy would tell us to get the wires ready so we could roast our own hot dogs. Some time we would be roasting the dogs and would get carried a way talking or something and we would burn one or two but that was ok because mom always packed extra.

We would cook the hot dogs and then run to the table wail they was hot and tell mom what we would what on them and she would fix them for us. After we ate then we would set around telling stories a bout what happened that day or we even told some ghost stories some times. In a bout an hour or two dads would tell us its time to roast some marshmallows that was always fun but sticky. Some time we would get all coved in that stuff. But we didn’t seam to matter because we was all together having fun.

After it got dark we would all chases lighten bugs by the vapor lights? Which seamed to always amuse us kids. Some times the little ones would have blankets and curl up next to mom and go to sleep wail they was waiting for us older ones to play or selves out. At other times dad would help load the car up and take us for rides down to the zoo to watch the monkeys .he all ways seamed to show us kids that the baboon liked to talk to him I was a fraid that Charlie would hurt him one day he showed us that he could hand the baboon ice cream cones like he would one of us kids.

Some times if we wasn’t sleepy he would take us for long car rides out in the country but that’s back when gas wasn’t so high priced. I loved my daddy he was my hero I thought he could do no wrong in my eyes.

These times are dear to me because all to soon I grow up and got married and mom bless her soul died of suicide when I was but fourteen years old.  Thats why the park is near and dear to my heart. Mom was barred over looking the spot where we use to play.  from time to time I take strolls down thou the park and if I listen close I swear some times I can here her calling my name or giving me advice on what’s going on in my life.

Yes my mom and I was very close to each other. That was about thirty years ago and I am still strolling though the park. Sometime I go up there to her grave and talk to her. When I do I walk around the edges of the cemetery and find flowers that have blow off down the hills and collect them so by the time I leave she always has a big bouquet of flowers on her grave.

I gotten close to frank so one day I decide to let him in on what I was doing about going to her grave and collected flower for her so we walked the cemetery that day and collected twice a many flowers usual to put on her grave and he even talked to her also.

one day Frank and I  looked all over they park and we picked a spot so I could go and set with Frank and think of my mother.
I cleared a area of brush and kind of made like a little fort and built up the side with  limbs so no one could see me.I even sweep the ground so it would be clean to set on. I had a nice big fort you might say. Some people find that as being strange because I am a forty six year old woman-buildinga clubhouse like a little kid

Frank didn’t think so he helped me build it. In side of the fort I would bring flowers to spread around in different place and place them in the ground kind of like a shrine to my mother.

A week latter I was forced to break up with him which was bad because he was the first person I felt close to since my mother died. Because I thought he really cared what happens to me. So for a bout six mouths I drove to the park and spent the day alone in my little fort in my own little world. Some say I lost my mind but I don’t know it could be true. All I knew is that is how I was able to stay close to my mother and to my frank. The end.
