A poem about the moon
I wait for the sun to sink down in to the west
And tell the moon to shine
I can not sleep but I try my best
The night intreages me both powerful and divine

It isn’t long until I pursue my quest
I craw out of bed
My soul is filled with unrest
And a hunger that must be fed

I stare out my window and watch my friend
He visits me at night
There isn’t anything he wouldn’t lend
And not one battle he wouldn’t fight

He stays in the sky with whispers of sun glowing down
I do not get angry that he never comes to play
I talk to him all night and from him not one sound
But in the sky is where he belongs and that is where he will stay

The moon has never done me wrong
My skin he has never made sore
I visit him with drinks and song
And he listens the same weather I'm rich or poor

He sticks out so large and bold
He yearns to shine in everybody’s site
But up there it is lonely and cold
It’s just me and the moon and the night
