"Lit-er-a-ture. 1. The body of written works of a language, period, or culture." (thefreedictionary.com) Try to define literature, and that's the most likely answer you will find. So what does that mean? Is literature just any type of written word? Who writes it? How does it affect the world, and the nineteen-twenties more suspificly? Answers have been tracked down, so please stay reading. If literature is every thought put on paper, then many pieces are disregarded without a second one. But if the statement is considered true, it could explain why some pieces are called "great works." They have passed the time test, have been remembered from the long dead past for its tasteful diversity, thrilling words that deepen the mind, is considered worth while. They have survived death by being told over and over countless times. So the next question should change; instead "who writes literature?" it should be "who writes great literature?" Great authors would be the obvious answer. And what are the aquirements of a great author? First off, the majority of that answer would go to the general public's intrest of the novel. ....T_T I need more time! |
