Poop is Okay

Poop is okay!

Poop is okay to say
In almost any setting.
Crap is not quite so nice
Though the meaning is the same.

Excrement is just plain old poop,
But few would know as much.
Feces sounds better in a crowd,
But still smells like poop to me.

Animals like minks and skunks
And rats and cats leave poop called scat.
Though I really don’t know why
They call it that.

Unlike all these other words,
Like dung or muck or turds,
Poop can serve as noun or verb,
Though defecate is the proper word.

In the hospital one has a BM,
But I think it’s really the poop that moves.
Poop is kind of confusing stuff
That people claim to take but leave instead.

More confusing still is that most folks
Think poop is okay to say,
And crap and dung and even turds
Are not normally prohibited words.

Although we all know it happens,
The kind of poop that starts with “s”
Is not a word that we can say,
But poop is okay.
