Oh how we prayed for rain
to fall upon the grasses,
to fill our lakes and dams!
We pleaded rain again
upon the dying masses,
water colts and calves and lambs.
Then the clouds stampeded high
and brought the blowing winds
as well as lightning, thunder.
So the river's touched the sky
all the trees have tossed their limbs
now water life is under.
