A poem about missing my mother.
Thank You, Tam

It's been nearly eighteen years since I saw your face.
Nothing has been quite the same about the old home place.
While nudging your old rocking chair to slowly pace the floor,
lullabyes play in my mind, how sweet they sound, once more

My baby's eyes are blue, like yours and wink about the same;
her baby's eyes are also blue as we play the family game.
From one generation to the next, the years left me as I am.
I'd like to say just one more time. please hear me, thank you, "Tam."

Mother, mom or other names don't sound as short and fine
as your name, "Tam," sounds to me; I love it, mother, mine.
I won't say I'm always strong. Sometimes I shed some tears
thinking of you gone from me, all these many years.

Hoping that we'll meet again almost makes me smother.
I long to see your sweet, sweet face,do you hear me, mother?
No one influenced me more than you, made me the way I am.
I love to say it now and then; I love you ... Thank you, Tam.
