Temptation


To touch...
To taste...
To savor... every moment as it quickly slithers by!
As it entices you,
        As it calls to you,
                Pulls you with its erotic aroma.
Like a snake being charmed
it begins at your feet and slowly wraps itself around you
until it reaches the top of your head.
You only inhale its venom
and like the effect of a hallucinogen
your mind roams those dark chambers never explored before
and you begin to feel and see what could possibly be.
You become so intoxicated with your new reality
your life becomes consumed with rivers of emotion
and waterfalls of tears as you begin to realize
you're going to drown soon if it doesnt let you go.
Its beauty and all that it seems to be
covers you like a warm blanket,
it's all so deceiving you could have never known
that it would come to this,
when it all smelled like pure bliss!
Once you tasted the smooth sweet sensation between your lips
you just couldnt miss this chance to have at least one small kiss.
You cant decide whether you feel
like a small baby wrapped in a secure papoose,
or a deranged lunatic trying to struggle free
from her straight jacket.
Is this loves bittersweet bite...
lifes cruel game of taming the heart...?
I just want to get back to the place where I first began,
to the moment before I became so consumed
with this perplexity of life,
so I can charm the snake,
before I get lost in the dream of what actually never comes to be!
