the darkness

she lurks in the deepest of darkness,
she avoids the lightest of days,
she hides in the shadows of moonlight,
she runs from the sun's shiny rays.

she fights to stay under,
when all others rise.
she crys but with reason,
oh the pain in her eyes.

a rose that is wilting,
from lack of care.
a star that stopped shining,
until there's barely anything there.

a girl who was abandoned,
who learnt to give up.
a girl left behind,
surrounded by bad luck.

a girl who in the end,
has no more energy to fight.
she nurses her broken heart,
all through the night.
