She said she would stand by me,
At that hour those words sounded more comforting than they ever could be,
And then this distance took us apart,
Different countries and places so far apart,
I still that time could smile and say
“I’m lucky I know I would always be in her heart”
And now when I’m all grown and matured
I understand the way of the world
All I ask now is what life has to truly give to me,
