Alive

there are times
surviving is the most you can do
but pushing through
can force the life out of you

waking up
doesn’t mean you’re alive
it just means you survived
on the outside
and you can walk through life
a long time
and not realize
you have died
in part
or whole
became someone you don’t know
or just can’t stand
it’s a damn long fall
when you never land
but just keep crashing instead
