Try standing on a hillside looking down at a desert, or a jungle, or a countryside covered with hills, valleys, homes, and cities. Add in the fact that someone you love, be it a husband, father, son, or other relative or close friend, is among those you can barely see, but are not able to recognize. You see other people coming in the other direction, but there is no way for you to holler loud enough for anyone to hear you, and there is no way for you to get word to anyone of the impending conflict. All you can do is watch. Not knowing what the outcome will be.
The preceding scenario is what so many people in this country go through each day until their loved one comes back home (one way or the other). May we pray not only for the men and women fighting anywhere in this world, but for their families who fight a battle of their own back here at home. May God bless us all.
