This poem is about the apathy that exists in people no matter how close they are.
When I talk, you hear grasshoppers chirp
When I scream, you can only hear yourself screaming
When I sing, noise is what you hear
When I explain, your eyes glaze up
When I cry, you walk away
When we have a heart-to-heart talk, you only hear your heart talking

If it's not about you you grow deaf to it
But that's okay
We're all deaf to you anyway
