To a friendship lost

It seemed as if we would always be together
Friends through life, through stormy weather
Our paths had crossed why should we worry
We were meant to be friends, to always be together

Then are lives began to change
Time was not on our side
We fell apart from the seam outwards
All that was left was broken fragments

Time passed and we grew older
Memories faded and our friendship was no longer
I sometimes sit and wonder where it went wrong
How we became so distant, so broken

Friends are precious, things to treasure
The moments we share are pure unable to measure
Make the most of the time you have together
For some day you won't be together
