For those girls or guys who sat around waiting for that phone call that never came...
After hours alone of emptiness
And those painful "I miss you" songs
I've realized that I can't stay around
And that it shouldn't have taken this long
I found out what love should be
And the passion we never shared
I found out what was missing
And why you couldn't have cared
I learned I shouldn't answer my phone
Or depend on your call
Because you'll never really come around
No, you'll never call at all
And when they gave me warnings
I should have understood
That your love would surely fade
Love me- you never could
It only took you time
To ruin the trust you built
I should have never come back
To all of this misery and guilt
Minute after minute I think I'm wrong
Though I can't tell anyone why
I bend over backwards, again and again
And take the fall when you lie
I should have deleted your messages
That I saved from the start
Hoping that you meant every word
But now those words are torn apart
I may lose the photographs
But I'll never forget your face
And even when I remember your skin
I'll only think of being replaced
Wondering each night before I rest
How could this happen to me?
I gave up my body, I gave up my life,
And now I'll never be free
Those promises are priceless
They'll never be worth a thing
All in all, we'll never find closure
And my lungs will always sing
Drunk one night, you'd confess your love
And I'd say, "I don't believe you yet."
The next morning you'd kiss my lips
And reply, "I had nothing to regret."
Sober or not we passed the days
Holding hands in bed
But now you've left me once again
After all those lines you fed
You said you never want to lose me
You say we're back to being friends
And I'm trying to forget your warming touch
But how can love just end?
I know who you are, and what you will do
You'll come back to me one day
But when that day comes I'll stand alone
Because I've given you the chance to stay
No, I lied, you might reel me back
And I hate being the loser
But if that should happen, I'll still ask
"Then why did you chose her?"
Please go easy on me this time
You're the deepest under my skin
And if you hurt me, day after day
I'll be the worst I've ever been
