The Bet

She was sitting there
searching around AIM
she heard a rumor
had to know it wasn't true
she saw him
she asked him
"Is it true what they say?"
he explained
the others watched
making a comment now and then
it was true
it started as a bet
saying they wouldn't last
and they didn't when the secret got out
she said goodbye
he tried to explain it
too late
she had made her choice
a tear comes down her upset face
and that was that.
