death to the mind

Why do people write? I find myself asking myself often. Is it because they need to put their inner most thoughts on paper to clear their mind? eh. Sometimes, but not always; if so we would only have nonfiction. Is it to form art? eh. Sorta... The reason I used to write (and yes I said "used to") because I think that some people's minds would simply die without writing... Not the brain, but the mind would die. Now as I said before: I no longer write. Then why write this; you might ask. Well, because I needed to set on paper what I believe in once more before the mind that has gotten me into so much trouble is put to rest.
