Walk to school, working mom.
Black chunky heels scrape along the grayish slated pavement.
Tiny hand captured beneath the hook of authority, stammers to keep up.
Beloved friend reddish orange yarn hair, enthralling smile dangles in the wind.
Capture the glimpse of a total stranger drowning in depths of admiration.
Her eyes dart forward, the downward ends of her mouth painted crimson.
Black skirt flows below her knees paired with the buttoned blazer.
Brown silken hair pinned high, chistled cheekbones faded pale rosebud.
Striking feminity at a loss not allowed, trapped inside this man’s world.
Summon respect thundering huge steel door, clammers between us.
Shutting out what was to be ours, like the others I cease to exist.
