metaphor on death and a parasite
Neverending

Death is a parasite…
Grey and pale,
It leeches of others,
Sucking the lifeblood…
It flows like a thought,
Skirting and quick,
Like water…
--like salt
It lives there forgotten
Just lying in wait…
Waiting…
And waiting
‘Till its poisons flow through.
Burning the life…
Like acid in haste,
Out of something once new…
Once fresh
White, black
Red and grey
These are the colors of the day.
That is the life of one
As it dies in haste
And still the parasite thrives
With grace.
