LOVE WAS MY TEACHER

I will say this but once
I'll waste not time & get on a role
I am but yours
mind,body down to the very depths of my soul
In an instant you took me
though you asked me not
I surrenderd to you the unknown
without question on the spot
Was it fate,destiny, perhaps a gift from the Gods
Who knows my love I care not for we've beaten the odds
A wall built between us to deny us our love
Built with lies & doubt temptation & fear
The forces against us underestimated our love
& the power between us destroyed all of the above
I forgive myself for every negative thought
Every doubt and every fight ought not have been fought
The years together the lessons we've learned
Now knowing we weren't brought together by chance
our love was well earned
Temptation can tempt me
Doubt can try to set in
Fear can try to control me but will not win.
I understand now the truth and it has set me free
I didn't fear looseing you I feared looseing me
I was scared of the love cause I didn't understand
But love knows no fear it walks hand in hand
Love is paitient
Love is kind
Love keeps tract of no wrongs
Love is the poem the life
The very breath that we breathe
Death comes to us all it's the love that never leaves
Love can't be explained no one can teach it to you
When it finds you you'll know it & you must take it inside
Protect it cherish it allow it to grow
Remember you've been given the greatest gift of all
and must never let it go
So as God is my witness on this star filled night
