I had tried so hard to stay from it, to hide from my weakness... to hide the painful memories away.
But it was right there.
My body and mind yearned for the high it gave me, for the brief happiness I felt when under it's addicting influence. I was tense everywhere, I craved the few moments of relaxation it gave me. My hand slowly travelled towards it, as if it were a natural thing to do. I felt the tips of my fingers graze it.
It felt so right.
The temptation was too much, I couldn't resist... not anymore. I suddenly grabbed it, grasping it in my hand, it was as if I let go I would die. I stared at it in my hand... just this once, it wouldn't hurt me, it would just be this one last time.
I stood up clutching it in my hand and walked away, leaving behind the life that I had worked so hard to create.
