The absence of color.
The dearth of life.
The bleak, missing future
of the dark abyss waiting.
Not a single glimmer of hope
to guide those that should fall.
The retreat of light
(the source of all elation)
sends all without it
spiraling into nothingness;
deaf to the screams of
others that face a twin fate.
