The significance of beauty

Beauty is only skin deep,
It's the true people that love and respect you, who can see your inner beauty.
They are the ones that see the very foundations of your heart.
Many people are tricked into thinking beauty is that of a lipstick or a mascara,
But infact it that of your emotions, strengths and weaknesses.
Make-up is merely a mask.
It can cover up secrets and hide the truth from the hidden eye.
We all must learn to look behind the mask and accept people for their imperfections.
No make-up, mirror or clothing should have to hide your true beauty.
Everyone in this world are beautiful in their own way.
But the ignorance of others will protest against this.
And it's this ignorance that makes you want to be accepted by society.
Here is when your strength is put to the test.
You must battle against their insults and just be yourself =]

Too many people in this world let beauty affect their life in one way or another. Belemia and anorexia are a growing problem. I thought this poem would be a good idea to show people they can be who the want to be.
